If you're a complete novice in Japanese, then you have the option to change the setting of the iKnow! application so that the items are displayed in the English alphabetical transliteration of Japanese, known as
romaji. If you've already learned
hiragana and
katakana but don't feel ready for
kanji, you can also choose a
kana mode. And of course, if you're ready for
kanji, there's that mode as well. All three of these modes can be selected from the Quiz tab in the Settings on the main screen.
