Description

The Core 6000 lists are organised by frequency of use. This means that the progression is good to allow you to incrementally understand more of what you are hearing in spoken Japanese. Unfortunately the progression is less well suited to learning the 漢字 as they are introduced in random orders.

This series of lists will reorganize the Core 6000 corpus so that vocabulary items are introduced in order of the level of the 日本漢字能力検定 at which the most complex 漢字 appears. The idea is to use this alongside a 漢検 preparation tool (e.g. one of the many Nintendo DS games designed for this purpose). I am personally using 漢検DS3デラックス from rocket Company.
