Wow, another milestone and I didn’t even see it coming.

I have really been finding studying easier now that I have brought my two threads of study together (漢検 based 漢字 training on the train and smart.fm training at lunchtime and now in the evening as well). I can now read Kanji like a 2nd grader ;) It won’t be long now until I’m ready to move up to studying for 8級.

The main problem I am having at the moment is that because there are a lot of similar items on some of my Core 6000 by 漢検 level lists some of the distractors can be similar too. Chosing ‘early’ when given 早く has caught me out a few times now (the correct answer is ‘early, soon’) and also choosing ‘rice field, paddy field’ for 水田 when the correct answer is ‘paddy field, rice field’. Still, its early days with the new distractor algorithm, I’m sure these kinks will work themselves out :)
