3000 studied? Wow. I still feel a log way from being able to move the indicator on my profile page from ‘beginner’ to ‘lower intermediate’. Recently I have been feeling like I am on the cusp of something; that I just need to add a little bit more and I’ll suddenly start understanding much more. Looking at a page of Kanji text I am able to pick out quite a lot, even though my Kanji reading is not yet up to that of a 3rd grade 小学生. I am also tantalisingly close to being able to pick out the meaning of a number of the natural language podcasts I listen to.

I know I still have a long way to go though.
