Hi! Maybe we can help each other learn. Thanks Smart.fm for offering this free learning tool! Thanks to everyone who makes these smashing lists too!
I’m hoping to start an Oriental Studies program this fall. My lists should reflect this as I am preparing now for the programs then. No more Romance or German language lists for the most part. There are plenty of others providing those, such as the contributors to Glossaria, Michealklishin, Martinu, and Keepkeyyellow.
I’ll be working on Arabic, Persian Farsi, Kurdish and Turkish in preparation for the program. Also, I’m (trying to) continue Russian on my own, and there may be more Russian lists as time permits. I might add other Slavic lists such as Bulgarian or Czech if it helps in learning Russian. Hopefully I’ll get good lists up for some of those languages if everything goes well…
A few things real quick:
I never record pronunciation. Don’t give me credit for it sounding good or bad.
I put a lot of time into avoiding mistakes, but I’m gonna make them, and please let me know when I do. Of course politeness is always awesome when correcting… ;)
Willing to make lists upon request!
I’ve been highly satisfied with Cortina method, Hippocrene books, McGraw-Hill books, and Dover as well. The practice makes perfect series is great. I think the Cortina method is the best bargain for your money at $10 for a well organized and easy to use book that’s basically a whole beginner’s course.
